Reporting to the Core Lab Technologist II, some of the main responsibilities will include: Performing both automated and manual laboratory procedures according to established policies and procedures. Performing computer and/or manual clerical duties as required and performing point of care procedures. Preparing and processing clinical research and laboratory specimens for analysis and/or transport. Operating, maintaining and performing troubleshooting on a variety of laboratory instruments. Maintaining a clean and safe work area according to established policies and procedures. Monitoring department supply inventory and following up accordingly. Actively participate in the training and orientation of staff. Performing other related duties as required.

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent experience in Epic Beaker.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting core laboratory systems including Roche Cobas Pro & Infinity, Sysmex XN & WAM, ACL TOP 350, Bilirubinometer, Osmometer, Siemens Advantus, and iSTAT. Previous experience with Bio-Rad Unity is preferred.
