Cambridge Isotope Laboratories (CIL) Canada, Inc. has an exciting opportunity as we seek a new laboratory technician to join our team based in Montreal, QC. The laboratory technician will perform multiple production functions in support of our materials purification and processing. The incumbent will also be responsible for participating in process improvement projects and expansion projects. CIL is a subsidiary of the Otsuka Pharmaceutical Group and has had consistent growth for over 40 years. Responsibilities

• Follow base procedures, ensure that production timelines are met.
• Assist with reaction prep and product harvest.
• Follow, respect, and maintain ISO-9001 standards.
• Complete production logs and assist in trending over time.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Perform sample prep and perform QC processes.
• Provide input for SOP updates.
• Maintain Health and Safety Standards within the lab space.
• Maintaining good housekeeping of their area
• Operate a GCMS and an HPLC
• Interpret data and Review QC results
• Perform instrument maintenance and calibration when needed
• Perform any additional work to meet deadline requirements

Requirements

• BSc is required, or higher in Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry or closely related field is preferred
• Excellent laboratory technique and communication skills, a broad knowledge of chemistry methods
• Regularly performs bench chemistry which requires standing, bending and stooping

• at least two years of relevant experience in organic chemistry would be an asset
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.

• Fluent in oral and written French, bilingualism is an asset
• Candidature for the Quebec Order of Chemists
