Still love science, but tired of being stuck at the bench?
Ready to use your scientific training outside the lab?
You like the data and the problem-solving -
but not sure you want to pipette forever?
If that sounds like you, read on.
We are a small, family-run scientific distribution company. We sell balances, instruments, and lab supplies to real labs - with a focus on accuracy, honesty, and technical credibility, not pushy sales tactics.
The Role
As
Product Data & Marketing Coordinator
, you sit where science, data, and customers meet:
Own and maintain product data in our ERP (Bluelink) and e-commerce platforms (specs, pricing, attributes, SEO fields).
Set up new products and vendors cleanly so that quoting and ordering are smooth and accurate.
Support data cleanup and mapping for platform upgrades (Shopify, dealer portals, etc.).
You'll also be a science-literate internal resource:
Help sales and customer service interpret technical needs and match customers with the right products.
Turn spec sheets and manuals into clear notes, comparison tables, and simple quote templates.
Flag bad fits and suggest better options to protect the customer and our reputation.
Write and update product pages with clear, credible, SEO-aware copy.
Make straightforward website updates (add/remove products, images, categories, cross-sells).
Help prepare for events and
occasionally work at our local trade show booth
: talk to visitors about their applications, support simple demos, and capture leads as part of a small team.
No coding background required - we will train you on the tools.
What This Role Is
Not
No cold-calling labs.
No random lab walk-ins.
No pressure to sell products that do not fit.
We build long-term relationships. One bad sale can close a door for years.
About You
You'll excel in this role if you:
Have a
science background
(BSc/MSc in a relevant field or strong lab experience).
Are comfortable reading
technical documents
and linking them to real workflows.
Have strong
attention to detail
and care about clean, consistent data.
Are confident with
Excel
and learn new software quickly.
Communicate clearly and can simplify technical concepts without dumbing them down.
Prefer
consultative problem-solving
to "pitching."
Are willing to
occasionally travel within Ontario
for trade shows and events.
Experience with lab supply, distribution, logistics, or QA/QC is an asset, not a requirement.
You must be legally entitled to work in Canada and comfortable in a
dog-friendly office
.
Why It Matters
Our customers work under tight timelines and budgets. The wrong equipment, instrument, or consumables costs them time, money, and credibility.
Your work:
Keeps our product data clean and reliable.
Helps us give straightforward, technically sound answers.
Ensures we show up professionally online and at trade shows.
Mon-Fri 8:30-430pm no weekends
If you want to stay close to science while building skills in data, operations, and the business side of the lab world, we want to hear from you.
