Prairie Diagnostic Services Inc. (PDS) is a full-service veterinary diagnostic laboratory located at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. As a not-for-profit corporation, PDS supports animal health across Saskatchewan and beyond.

We are seeking a well-organized and motivated Laboratory Clerk to join our Diagnostic Services Office. The position provides a range of laboratory and administrative support services, including:

Preparing documentation and packing samples for shipment to Canadian and international referral laboratories in compliance with TDG regulations. Receiving, sorting, accessioning, and distributing veterinary specimens. Responding to client inquiries (in person, by phone and email) about testing services and results. Preparing submission forms; proofreading and entering client-provided information into the LIMS database Supporting the development and implementation of SOPs and maintaining quality control standards. Verifying, entering, and retrieving client and case data with speed and accuracy.
The successful candidate will have strong computer skills and working knowledge of veterinary diagnostic tests, specimen requirements, and medical terminology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications are typically gained through completion of a veterinary or agriculture-related university or technical program, along with experience in a veterinary clinic, research or agricultural testing laboratory, or medical office.

Typical hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Alternate hours or overtime, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on operational needs. Please note that this role involves potential exposure to unknown or pathogenic organisms.
