Your Opportunity:
This position is based at UAH with the possibility of providing coverage at other Edmonton zone AP labs. The successful candidate will provide support to the Anatomical Pathology laboratory by receiving, organizing and processing specimens. Duties include: Data entry. Preparing cytology specimens for examination. Limited gross dissection of surgical and biopsy specimens. Provide gross assistance for pathologist or pathologist assistant. Participating in the various quality control processes within the pathology department. Block and slide filing. Operating and maintaining equipment.Description:
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.- Classification: Laboratory Assistant I
