Laboratory Analyst - Compressed Breathing Gas Lab

(Fulltime)

As a Laboratory Analyst, your responsibilities are:

To operate Gas Chromatographs in the Compressed Breathing Gas Lab (CBG)

  • Perform gravimetric analysis of filter samples for oil and particulate determinations
  • Perform dewpoint measurements of gas samples using capacitive hygrometry
  • Perform analysis of compressed gas samples using GC with various detectors (TCD,FID,ECD) in accordance with Canadian Standard Association standards and perform activities to support such analysis
  • Follow methodology according to Standard Operating Procedures with QA/QC protocols observed
  • Perform processing, calculation and checking of analytical data
  • Maintain instrumentation in optimized and calibrated condition
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all QC procedures. Meet quality and turnaround time specifications as required by the client.
  • Maintain performance charts as per the QA/QC manual requirements, monitor for failure to meet tolerances and institute remedial action immediately.
  • Support preparation of cylinders for customer use (packing and shipping).
You are an ideal Laboratory Analyst if you have [Minimum Requirements]:
  • Degree in chemistry or Technical Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of GC with previous GC experience preferred
  • Computer literate, fully familiar with Microsoft Excel
  • Must be willing to work occasional weekends and evenings to accommodate rush work or other client commitments
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
