Laboratory Analyst, Inorganic, Metals Lab

(Full time position)

As a Laboratory Analyst, your main responsibilities are as below:

• To perform extraction and sample analysis for metals in a variety of matrices including food, waters, soils, air trains, paints and other items. Some duties include:
• Preparation of samples for analysis (digestion, filtration, dilution)
• Analysing samples using AA, ICPOES or ICPMS
• Performing all duties in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Reviewing LIMS summary reports to plan and prioritize workload
• Identifying and communicating non-conformances to supervisor
• Participating in improving SOPs and general work instructions
• Supporting method development and R&D initiatives within Metals group
• Other duties as assigned

You are the ideal Laboratory Analyst, if you have:

• You possess a post-secondary education and/or equivalent related work experience in analytical laboratory
• Experience with AA, ICPOEA or ICPMS would be an asset
• You possess analytical problem solving skills and excellent documentation skills
• You have the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments
• You are detail oriented
• You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• You have excellent interpersonal skill
• You are dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook, and a "can-do" attitude

You must be able to work afternoon and/or weekend shift
