Required Qualifications

  • More advanced qualifications are an asset.
  • Previous laboratory experience is required.
  • The successful candidate must be able to follow directions and have a firm understanding of the sensitive nature of both toxic chemicals and delicate biological material.
  • A familiarity with laboratory safety procedures is required.

Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

What you\'ll be doing:

The chosen candidate will team up with our Laboratory Technician, taking charge of the dynamic setup and breakdown of engaging Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science labs. Beyond tending to plants and living materials, you\'ll oversee our laboratory supplies and immerse yourself in various related tasks as they arise. The role demands not just efficiency but also a knack for seamless teamwork and an eagerness to thrive under guidance.

Note - This is a term position ending on or before June 30, 2025.

Advertised Salary CUPE TS7 - $5,991.61 per month and includes a comprehensive health and benefit package. This position qualifies for the Northern Living Allowance of $1,040.00 per month. This allowance is reviewed annually and is subject to budget approval.
