Primary responsibilities include:

Check-in, assess, and label biological samples

Assist with biological sample testing and processing

Centrifuge and aliquot biological samples

Perform DNA extraction and analysis

Database entry

Report customer test results

Prepare lab reagents

Assist in monitoring laboratory supplies

Assist with revising SOPs

Maintain all laboratory records

Comply with the correct procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations

Document all activities, results and report back to management

Clean and maintain work area and all lab equipment and supplies

Additional duties as assigned

Skills Requirements:

Use of Excel and Microsoft Office programs

Familiarity with laboratory equipment

Knowledge of Real-Time PCR and qPCR is a plus

Written and verbal communication skills (English and French)

Ability to operate as part of a team, to provide a functional, safe working environment

Ability to problem solve, multitask, and prioritize work

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documentation

Self-motivated, able to work independently

Accuracy and close attention to detail

15-40h per week Monday to Friday Weekend availability
Education:

Bachelor's (REQUIRED) Master's or higher level education (Preferred)
Experience:

Laboratory Experience: minimum 1 year (Required)
Work Location: Laval, Quebec

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00-$22.00 per hour

Laboratory Technicians: 1 year (required)
Work Location: In person
