The Role:



Are you a patient focused Lab Technician with medical administration experience and excellent written and telephone communication skills?

KMH Cardiology Centres Inc. is growing, and we are recruiting for a Lab Technician/Patient Care Coordinator for our busy specialist physician practices in

Kitchener

and

Woodstock.



The successful candidate will be a part of a team whose goal is to support physician practises and facilitate patient intake through timely, high quality and efficient administrative care.

The Accountabilities:



The key accountabilities of this role are:

- Patient Intake

- Coordination of daily clinic operations

- Management of Physician orders

- Utilize Tableau daily to facilitate KPI attainment. Ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner within pre-defined KPI's for team. Meet and achieve established KPI's.

- Tasks Management including Chart Checks and Report Uploads

- Perform ECG, Holter and Blood Pressure Monitor Hook up as-needed

- Missed appointment follow up

- Inform and educate patients about tests and procedures as requested by physician

- Process prescription renewal requests as directed by physician in collaboration with administrative staff within recommended timelines

- Attend team meetings and updates

- Answer and respond to enquiries by phone and in person in a respectful, efficient and timely manner.

- Maintain and update electronic medical records, including the patient chart. Perform tasks (including uploading, scanning, faxing and referrals) in support of patient care. Ensure patient confidentiality.

- Optimize clinic capacity

- Foster a collegial, respectful clinic environment

- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure best patient experience and outcomes

Required skills and experience:



- Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent

- Lab Technician (certified)

- Medical administration experience

- Proven ability to work proficiently in a busy fast paced specialist clinic environment

- Clinic experience is an asset

- Self-directed, detail oriented with an ability to multitask, establish priorities and achieve objectives with minimal supervision

- BLS

- Phlebotomy experience is an asset

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Superior telephone etiquette

- Strong conflict resolution skills

- Proficiency in technology including MS Office and EMR systems experience

- Excellent time management and organizational skills

- Possesses effective analytical and problem-solving skills

- Able to deal with sensitive information with a high degree of diplomacy

- Team orientation

- The ability to provide coverage at Kitchener and Woodstock

The Lab Technician team takes pride in our patient focused environment and works very closely with other service and clinical teams at KMH.

This is a 1 year Contract role scheduled for 5 days/37.5 hours per week scheduled between Monday-Friday. Saturdays are required on rotation with the team.

The hours of work for the position are:

8.00 a.m.-4.00 p.m.



This position reports to the Manager, PCC and Clinical Support.
