Korean-speaking Articled Student
to join our team and assist our lawyers in providing outstanding representation to our Korean-speaking clients.
Position Overview:
This is a full-time articling position for a law school graduate who is passionate about gaining practical experience in multiple areas of law. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Korean and English, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. You will assist with legal research, drafting, client meetings, and case preparation under the supervision of experienced counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, affidavits, correspondence, and memoranda.
Prepare and organize materials for hearings, trials, mediations, and client meetings.
Assist in family law files (divorce, custody, support, property division), civil litigation (claims, discoveries, motions), and immigration matters (applications, submissions, forms).
Communicate effectively with Korean-speaking clients, translating and summarizing documents when required.
Support document management, filing, and case organization in both digital and paper formats.
Attend court proceedings, mediations, and client consultations as directed by supervising lawyers.
Provide general administrative and legal support to ensure the smooth progress of client files.
Qualifications & Skills:
Law degree from a recognized Canadian or international law school and eligibility to article in British Columbia.
Fluency in Korean and English

Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Strong understanding (or interest in learning) Canadian family, civil, and immigration law.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Professionalism, initiative, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
Preferred Assets:
Prior experience (volunteer or paid) in a law firm or legal clinic environment.
Knowledge of BC Supreme Court and Provincial Court procedures.
Familiarity with IRCC online portals and court e-filing systems.
Ability to translate or interpret basic legal communications for clients.
