You will work
under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists
to assist with therapy, assessments, and progress monitoring for children with speech, language, and communication needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesTreatment Assistance
Implement therapy plans created by supervising SLPs
Support children in:
Speech production & articulation
Language comprehension & expression
Social communication & pragmatic skills
Theory of mind & descriptive language
Voice, fluency, and swallowing therapy
Utilize evidence-based strategies, including articulation therapy, oral motor exercises, cognitive-communication therapy, and AAC devices
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress
Prepare reports and communicate updates to supervising SLPs
Document any treatment modifications as directed
Collaboration & Family Support
Guide and educate parents and caregivers on therapy strategies
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including:
Occupational Therapists
Occupational Therapy Assistants
Registered Psychotherapists
Support culturally sensitive care, particularly for
Farsi
and
Korean-speaking families
Professional Development
Stay updated on best practices and current research in speech-language pathology
Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Qualifications
Graduate from an
accredited CDA program
or
International Speech-Language Pathology program
Minimum
2
year of pediatric experience (required)* Experience with AAC tools (e.g., Proloquo2Go)
Valid
Work Permit
permitting you to work in healthcare settings
Fluency in Farsi or Korean
(strongly preferred)*
