Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA)

Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

will help empower adults living with aphasia and other communication disorders through innovative, evidence-based, and community-driven programs!

for individuals with communication disorders across the lifespan.

Evergreen Communication Therapy is currently looking for a

passionate, creative, and personable Communicative Disorders Assistant or SLPA

to join our team in delivering

in-person 1:1 and group communication therapy

for adults living with aphasia through our

Evergreen programs

and the

Halton-Peel Community Aphasia Programs (H-PCAP)

.

This position will start as

part-time

, with the goal of growing into

full-time hours

as programs expand.

Location:



Community-based and in-clinic programming across

Halton and Peel regions

, with supervision provided by Speech-Language Pathologists from

Evergreen Communication Therapy Ltd.



Responsibilities:



Deliver one-to-one and/or small group communication therapy for adults living with aphasia Facilitate

community-based aphasia group programs

focused on participation, connection, and conversation Plan and prepare engaging, functional activities with guidance from supervising SLPs Maintain accurate clinical documentation and data Support client and caregiver education, workshops, and events Stay current with evidence-based practices and person-centered care models Supervise students and volunteers as appropriate Participate in

team meetings, clinical rounds, and community events


Skills, Requirements, and Qualifications:



Graduate from an accredited

Communicative Disorders Assistant program

Experience working under the supervision of a

Speech-Language Pathologist

Strong interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills Confidence facilitating group discussions and supporting diverse communication needs Comfort using technology and software (e.g., Zoom, Google Drive, etc.) Experience in community or group programming is an asset Takes initiative and works well both independently and collaboratively Current

Police Check for the Vulnerable Sector
