A UNIQUE PART OF THE WORLD FEW GET TO SEE! Nasittuq provides exemplary support services to the Canadian Forces Station (CFS) Alert, situated in the Canadian Arctic. Our highly skilled workforce provides services that include all elements of facilities maintenance, airfield operations, food services, transport and logistical/administrative support to our customer, the Department of National Defence (DND). WE ARE LOOKING FOR KITCHEN STEWARDS As a Kitchen Steward/Helper you will primarily be responsible for maintaining all kitchen and food dispensing/storage areas on a daily basis, including packaging, labelling and storing of leftover food and restocking inventory. You will also be expected to clean tables and manage the cleaning of the dishes, pots and pans while following all safety and sanitation procedures as required for food handling. You may be called upon to assist in the preparation of boxed meals and salads for a cafeteria style service. You will also be responsible for maintaining the self-serve items such as cereals, beverages, and desserts. The kitchen serves 3 meals-a-day Monday to Friday and 2 meals on weekends. Key Accountabilities:

• Will be required to assist in the kitchen for various duties
• Receives instruction from Cooks on completing daily tasks
• Maintain and inspect all kitchen and food dispensing/storage areas on a daily basis
• Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with the manufacturers\xe2\x80\x99 instructions and operating procedures
• Participate in committee meetings as required, e.g. quality assurance, environment, health and safety, etc.
• Performs other duties assigned by a higher authority

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in similar roles
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs
• Ability to balance multiple priorities, work well in a changing environment and possesses a sense of urgency
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be eligible for RELIABILITY security clearance, and must pass a company pre-employment medical
• As overnight stay in Thule Greenland is a requirement, must possess a valid passport
• Ability to work cross-culturally and a strong team player is a must; will need to roll up sleeves and pitch in as and when required

• Typical Rotations are 8x8 rotations (8 weeks on site, 8 weeks off site).
