Position Summary
Aburi Market Downtown is looking for a
Kitchen Manager
to oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and high standards of food quality and safety. This role is ideal for an experienced kitchen leader with strong operational knowledge who can manage people, processes, and product while supporting menu development and cost control. The Kitchen Manager works closely with senior leadership to maintain smooth kitchen operations and uphold Aburi Market standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
Lead, train, and supervise kitchen team members
Support menu creation and recipe development in collaboration with leadership
Manage inventory, ordering, and communication with suppliers
Monitor food costing, portion control, and waste reduction
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Assist with scheduling, opening, and closing procedures
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
Act as a leader on the floor during service and high-volume periods
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience, including at least 1 year in a management or supervisory role
Experience with inventory management and food costing
Proven experience ordering products and working directly with suppliers
Experience with menu creation and kitchen planning
Asian cooking experience is an asset
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Food Safe certification is required; First Aid certification is an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
