This is a full-time position (40h/week) including weekends and holidays. Work hour is shift based between 8am - 11pm.
Responsibilities:
Manage kitchen equipment, tools, and ingredients, ensuring proper hygiene and safety standards
Prepare dishes and broth according to the restaurant's recipes
Plan menus and manage food costs
Hire, train, and schedule kitchen staff
Supervise daily operations, including food preparation, service, and opening/closing duties
Manage inventory, place orders, and suggest improvements for kitchen efficiency
Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills:
Hold a valid Food Safe Level 1 certificate
Languages: Proficient in English; Japanese language skills are an asset
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing approximately 20-30 kg
Strong organizational and communication skills
Work Experience:
Experience as a cook or a Kitchen hand is an asset
Experience/ knowledge in Japanese cuisine is an asset
