Kitchen Manager
who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example.
Job Duties:
As the Kitchen Manager, you will:
Oversee Kitchen Operations:
Lead kitchen shifts to ensure smooth operations and exceptional food quality.
Safety and Equipment:
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety guidelines.
Maintain Cleanliness:
Ensure all health, safety, and sanitization processes are adhered to and compliant with NB's food handling regulations.
Inventory Management:
Monitor food stock levels, safely store food and ingredients, place orders, and conduct regular assessments and tracking waste.
Leadership:
Foster a positive work environment, mentor team members, and ensure excellent communication during shifts.
Teamwork:
Ability to work as a team and communicate well with FOH supervisors.
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in a kitchen leadership role, with demonstrated expertise in kitchen operations, food safety standards, inventory control, and team leadership.
Red Seal Certification
is strongly preferred and considered a significant asset

Food Safety & First Aid:
Valid Food Safety Certification is required for all BOH team members. The Kitchen Manager is expected to be currently certified. We proudly cover the cost of Food Safety and First Aid training and renewals for BOH staff to ensure ongoing compliance and safety excellence.
Staffing Efficiency:
Assess business levels in real-time and make decisions to adjust staffing, such as sending staff home when necessary, without compromising service quality.
Maximize Productivity:
Identify opportunities for staff to complete cleaning, organization, or prep work during quieter periods to maintain efficiency.
Effective Scheduling:
Monitor shift flow and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained to balance labor costs and operational needs.
Proactive Management:
Recognize when to reassign staff to cleaning or prep tasks during downtime to keep the kitchen running smoothly and productively.
Cost Control:
Demonstrate the ability to manage labor costs by making informed decisions on staffing adjustments during slower times. Understands food costs and importance of reducing food waste.
Training:
Ability to train staff on all sections in the Kitchen
Coordinate Kitchen Operations:
Act as the primary point of communication during service, calling out orders clearly and ensuring all sections work in harmony.
Maintain Service Flow:
Monitor and direct the timing of each section to ensure dishes are prepared and plated seamlessly.
Organize Kitchen Stations:
Ensure each kitchen station is properly staffed, equipped, and functioning efficiently throughout the shift.
Strong Communication Skills:
Call out orders effectively, keeping the team informed and on track during high-pressure service periods.
Lead with Precision:
Manage ticket times and prioritize orders to maintain an exceptional guest experience while upholding quality and consistency.
Collaboration:
Act as the main point of communication between the kitchen and Front of House managers and supervisors to align on timing, daily specials, special requests, and menu changes.
