The Kitchen Helper is responsible for assisting the cook in the kitchen. Their main responsibilities are ensuring a clean and orderly kitchen, assisting with food preparation and dishwashing. They will maintain various kitchen equipment and report any deficiencies that are found.

Roles & Responsibilities:
? Ensure food preparation, food storage, serving and dining areas are clean and oragnized.
? Wash, dry, and put away all dishes and kitchen utensils.
? Mop and sweep kitchen and dining area floors; take out garbage and replace garbage bags.
? Organize food deliveries, including unloading food, and ensure all food is stored safely.
? Assist cooks in preparing meals and snacks.
? Maintain kitchen equipment and report any deficiencies to the Kitchen Manager.
? Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
? Perform other duties as assigned.
? The Kitchen Helper is responsible for ensuring all deadlines are met, including ad-hoc deadlines as required.
Education/Qualifications:
? High school diploma or equivalent.
? Experience in the hospitality industry is an asset.
? Possession of a valid Food Handlers Certificate is required.
? WHMIS certification is an asset.
? First Aid/CPR/AED certification is an asset.
? Ability to multitask efficiently.
? Strong communication and organizational skills.
? Ability to withstand long hours of standing, bending, and moving around.
? Working knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
? Ability to use common kitchen equipment and appliances safely.
? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
? Ability to work independently without supervision.
Sensory & Mental Attention:
The position involves managing multiple requests and priorities simultaneously. Stress levels may increase during mealtimes due to the fast-paced nature of this role.
Physical Efforts:
This position requires:
Standing, Walking, Kneeling, Bending/twisting neck, Repetitive Foot Movement, Repetitive Hand Movement, Bending/twisting waist, Reaching Above/Below shoulder, Moving of 10-50 lbs.
