PulseAir Heart and Lung Centre provides a range of expertise in respirology, sleep medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, and allergy in south central Edmonton, Alberta. We partner with Advanced Respiratory Care who have 10 locations across the province. Collectively, we are looking for 2 full-time Kinesiologists who are looking to further progress their career.

We will be training and providing clinical hours to the chosen candidate to challenge the CACPT PFT Exam and gain CPT credentials.



Our areas of diagnostics and therapeutics include Pulmonary Function Testing, ABG testing and analysis, Level 3 sleep testing, CPAP and BiPAP therapy, respiratory home care and home oxygen therapy, 24-hour BP monitoring, 24 hour and 48-hour holter monitoring and allergy testing. The areas of Specialized Physician Consultation include Pulmonology, Cardiology, Sleep Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Allergy.

The?Role:

PulseAir is presently recruiting persons with Kinesiology Degrees for the role of Cardiopulmonary Technology Students.

The Responsibilities Include:

The CPT assists in performing high quality diagnostic Pulmonary Function test and sleep testing and provides accurate information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The CPT assists in performing high quality diagnostic Exercise Stress Testing. Reduces patient anxieties by explaining procedures, answering questions, and aiding the patient. Every patient encounter is an opportunity to educate. Uses proper patient preparation to ensure patient comfort and safety, to prevent compromised data acquisition and to ensure appropriate therapeutic response. Applies independent judgment and critical thinking when assisting with assessments or therapeutic interventions to ensure that all appropriate data is accurately captured, responded to, and communicated appropriately. Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly condition and ensures the work areas are properly supplied, equipped and operational before, during and after each shift. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Works with an interdisciplinary/multi-specialty team and other support staff to provide optimal patient care. Attends team meetings and updates.
The Requirements:

- Must have a degree in Kinesiology or physiology

- Must be looking for a training program which includes studying afterhours, dedication and eventual challenging of a National exam to gain further credentials.

- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Clear criminal Record Check including Vulnerable sector

- Current BLS certificate

- Excellent multitasking and communication skills

- Ability to be flexible to respond to an ever-changing environment

- Must Register with applicable association upon accepting employment and be eligible to write the applicable exam within a year of excepting employment

Schedule: 745/8AM - 445/5PM, Monday to Friday, potential weekend shifts as needed for the education days.

Salary from: $52,002.00 per year with raises as the program progresses.
