The Regina Open Door Society Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to staff the full-time permanent position


of Team Leader for the KidsFirst Program. The start date for this position is December 1,2025

Position Summary




The role of this position is to provide supervision to the Home Visitors in the KidsFirst (KF) program for the Settlement, Family and Community (SFC) Department. Ensures that the program functions according to the terms and conditions outlined in the program contract, as well as, ensuring day-to-day program operation meets with the overall mandate of the organization. Responsible for the training and supervision of staff in the department. Supervises and guides staff in meeting program objectives. Responsible for overseeing maintenance of records and statistics and directly responsible for program statistics and for writing and submission of program reports. In cooperation with the SFC Senior Manager and/or Director, assists in the preparation of program applications, on-going contract negotiations and recruitment of new home visitors staff.


Program coordination and demonstrated clinical supervisory skills are necessary, as well as extensive knowledge of and experience working with newcomer parents and families (ex. child development and effective parenting considering cultural values). Requires knowledge of community resources, methodologies and experience with in-home services, as well as experience in teamwork, interagency and interdisciplinary approaches. Effective organizational, communication (verbal and written) computer and administrative skills are also essential. Must have the ability to travel and work flexible hours.

Education/Certification

University degree in the human service, humanities or education; Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C (not mandatory but an asset). Specialized knowledge and skills Good knowledge about prenatal care, early childhood and family development and challenges common to high-risk families; Solid para professional counseling skills; Good knowledge and practice of reflective and strength-based supervision; Strong computer skills with knowledge of Windows, MS Office, email, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and internet; Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in English; Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in bi-lingual or multi-lingual (would be an asset) Abilities to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment; Broad knowledge of local community resources that can assist newcomer children and families.

Experience



Minimum two years' work experience in direct supervision in a human service delivery environment or comparable experiences Minimum one year home visiting service with families and their young children (0-5 years old); Working with minimum supervision; Ability to work in stressful situations.

Required Licenses and /or Certificates

2 years valid experienced Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License; Clean criminal record check (includes Vulnerable Sector Search) and must be dated within the last 6 months; Clean driver's abstract; Access to a reliable vehicle for travel purposes; Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C (not mandatory but an asset).

Make day-to-day decisions at the program/operational level. Ensure the individual accountability of staff to the program and to the organization; Provide program administration; Manage and report on risks within the program and department; Collaborate with Managers and other Supervisors, Team leaders to provide solutions to needs. Provide options/solutions to needs in collaboration with staff; Models and encourage conflict-resolution strategies and work one-on-one with staff to building on strengths and overcome weaknesses. Identify incentives and solutions for programs and staff; Identify IT solutions. Implement and maintain information systems in programs.

Responsibilities:

Program Development and Delivery management



Provides day to day program and operational support to the KidsFirst Home Visitors (HVs); Ensures regular supervision with individual Home Visitor including review of client physical files, database entries (i.e., KIMS, RODS); reviews/monitors the HVs activities and schedules including first stage approval of replicon entries; Assigns Home Visitors to the families files; Ensures Home Visitors utilize the child development curriculum and information resources (i.e. GGK, GGF, ASQ, etc.) with families on a regular basis and that this use is documented in contact/progress notes; Provides support and direction on individual cases; communicates with HVs to ensure clients are receiving timely and quality services and referrals are made to appropriate internal/external services and programs; Maintains, distribute and track program vouchers (i.e., milk, taxi);

Regular hours of work are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with every second Friday or Monday 0ff. The annual salary for this position is $54,725.52 The closing date for applications is November 15, 2025.
