:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced South Indian Cook (Kerala) to join our team. We are a take-out restaurant with high volume catering. The Cook will be responsible for preparing delicious and high-quality meals in a timely manner, following recipes and food safety guidelines.
Duties
:
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes
Train, coach and develop other teammates
Ensure food quality and presentation meet standards
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, fridge, freezer, dish area and storage area
Track and manage food stock, rotation and quality
Receive deliveries, unpack and store goods in the appropriate storage area
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Adhere to all food safety cleaning and sanitation procedures
Other duties as assigned
What we need from you
:
Proven experience in a South Indian kitchen
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal presentation
Knowledge and experience in cooking curries, biryani's, tandoor dishes, and other south Indian meals
Understanding of food safety guidelines and proper food handling
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with team members
Previous experience in Catering/ Banquet
No/ low ego: you take directions and feedback well, and are focused on getting to the best possible outcome
The ability to work in Canada legally
