Job Description

The Kenogamisis Investment Corporation (KIC) is a partnership between four First Nations near the Greenstone Mine currently under construction in the Municipality of Greenstone. KIC was created by the partner First Nations communities to provide and create opportunities related to development of the Greenstone Mine.

Currently KIC is pursuing several development opportunities. Each of these opportunities are intended to be profitable while providing employment to local First Nations members and build capacity within the member First Nations. The goal is to build long term sustainable businesses that will outlive the life of Greenstone Mine.

Kenogamisis Investment Corporation (KIC) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to join their team. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for growing Kenogamisis Investment Corporation (KIC) and leading the identification and implementation of new and long-term business strategies and opportunities for KIC. The CEO reports directly to the KIC Board of Directors. This position will manage multiple priorities while ensuring all operations are conducted in a respectful and responsible way and decisions are compliant with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Ensure the grow of the corporation as a company as a core goal, from its current focus on diver\xe2\x80\x99s opportunities.
• Lead the ideation, planning, and implementation of new and long-term business strategies and opportunities.
• Set strategic goals, and ensure that these goals are measurable
• Manage contracts, assets, and liabilities
• Plan and direct marketing and advertising campaigns
• Create presentations for clients, and for the Board of Directors
• Hire, train, and manage employees
• Identify and contact potential clients through networking methods

• Demonstrate excellent skills with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of the culture and traditions of the communities represented on the KIC Board of Directors
• Knowledge of the federal and provincial legislation and regulations
• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications

• Ability to manage relationships with rightsholders and stakeholders

• First Nation Heritage encouraged but not essential

• Post-secondary education in business administration or commerce, public administration, economic development or another related field
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership role
• Experience reporting directly to a Chief and Council or Board of Directors

• This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.
