Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to the animals in our facility while ensuring a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare, strong customer service skills, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising dogs and cats. Maintain cleanliness in kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to management. Assist with customer service duties, including greeting clients and answering questions about services offered. Help with the intake and discharge process of animals, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately. Support team members in various tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations within the kennel. Answering phones, and taking payments.

Requirements

Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required; a genuine love for animals is essential. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and provide excellent service. Ability to perform heavy lifting, as some tasks may require moving large bags of food or handling larger animals. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are crucial for success in this role.
