The ideal candidate for this position is someone who loves to share their tech knowledge and experience with the public. As an tech educator, you will implement the company's educational programs to several partners throughout Calgary and Okotoks, AB. With your background, you should be passionate about working with people and have a good sense of humor. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, passion for technology and enjoy interacting with children. Ultimately, your goal is to share your expertise with employees, clients and partners in a manner that fosters meaningful relationships.Responsibilities:Teaching - Teach youth (K-12) in various youth programs including, after-school programs, summer camps, clubs and one on one lessons.Professional Development - Present curriculum to teachers and assist their life-long-learning process as it directly relates to the tehcnology and sustainability fields.Curriculum Development - Develop, prototype, and document curriculum in areas such as coding, entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and design thinking.What a Successful Candidate Looks Like:
  • Is a recent graduate (within the last approximate 12 months);
  • Has experience teaching and/or has a passion for working with children;
  • A self-starter who works well in groups and on solo projects;
  • Very organized, creative with a lot of initiative;
  • Has some experience with coding, robotics, etc. and/or the drive to learn more;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presenting skills;
  • Has or has the ability to get a Vulnerable Sector Check to work with children;
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 20 per weekSalary: $19.00-$21.00 per hourBenefits:
