The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking a Junior or Intermediate Expeditor to join our Energy and Process team in our Calgary office. Reporting to the Team Lead - Expediting, this position will be responsible for Expediting on a client-based team.

A day in the life:

The responsibilities, tasks and activities for the Expeditor include but are not limited to the following:
  • Progress monitoring/expediting of equipment and materials; typically responsible mechanical equipment, bulk piping and Electrical, Instrumentation & Control packages. May be required to support Senior Expeditors on complex engineered and process packages.
  • Work closely with vendors, engineering and Document Control to coordinate submittal and return of vendor documents.
  • Review submitted schedules and status updates; report any material delays and schedule conflicts.
  • Follow-up with the supplier to determine schedule restoration plans, initiate corrective action to ensure delivery performance, and/or monitor activities during product manufacturing / shipment.
  • Manage deadlines and ensure appropriate communication is provided to relevant parties when schedule conflicts arise.
  • Assists Buyers, Expeditors and Supplier Quality Surveillance coordinator with various day to day tasks and commercial activities.
  • Preparation and processing of project expediting file closeouts.
  • Communicate, understand and apply basic technical, business / administrative concepts.
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Decision and problem-solving capability.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities.
  • Accepts coaching, knowledge and support from more experienced staff.

What you'll bring to WSP ...
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, MS Visio
  • 2 - 7 year's previous expediting experience.
  • Previous experience in an EPCM environment is an asset.
  • Degree, diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management or other applicable area is an asset.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office including training with vendor and database software.
  • SharePoint experience is an asset.
