YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Junior Technologist reporting to the firm\xe2\x80\x99s Senior Technologist, your day-to-day duties will include:
  • Supporting the development of technical drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Assisting in data collection and analysis for planning projects for overall efficiency.
  • Conducting research to support the development of technical reports and studies.
  • Assisting with the preparation of project proposals, including technical specifications and cost estimates.
  • Collaborating with other team members to ensure the technical solutions meet the project requirements.
  • Maintaining and organizing project files, technical documents, and other related materials.
  • Assisting with the development of designs and calculations related to building permit packages.
  • Providing technical support for meetings, presentations, and other project-related activities.
  • Reviewing project statistics to ensure that all data is correct and up to date as required.
  • Staying current with the latest technology and software updates in the field of urban planning.
  • Analyzing and understanding applicable bylaws and policies related to projects.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary credential in Architectural and Building Technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that showcases your extensive knowledge of the industry.
  • Completion of a certified Building Technology or Architectural program in a professionally recognized institution is an asset.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in building technology including wood frame, multi-family residential projects in BC.
  • 2+ years of experience producing drawings through Revit is a must.
  • Well-versed in diverse planning technologies, such as Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Lumion.
  • Comprehensive understanding of BC Building Code and municipal bylaws.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills to review project statistics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a project team setting
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral).
  • Experienced with detailing and solid understanding of sustainable design considerations.
  • Familiarity with municipal approvals processes.

  • An educational background in Building Code 2018 or a Multi-family development course. Foundational knowledge is always helpful!
