We are flexible on hiring salary rates, these are based on the experience of the applicant. Schedule and wage will be negotiated during the interviewing process.

Junior Technician Position
As a
Junior Technician
you will work out of our shop, and on-site at various customer locations throughout Winnipeg. You'll be responsible for the duties outlined below and you will be supporting in accelerating and growing our JER team and working towards a senior level technician position.
Responsibilities
Accurate recording of temperatures and fuel levels of all reefer and heater units at customer sites
Securing and Routing of power cables on rail equipment
Mounting/Dismounting of clip-on generators on containers using a forklift
Electrical and engine repairs on diesel reefers
Cable repair and maintenance, electrical troubleshooting (3 phase) on electric reefers
Inspection, diagnosis, and repair of marine electric reefer units
Inspection, diagnosis, and repair of diesel reefer units
Inspection, diagnosis, and repair of diesel heater containers
Inspection, diagnosis, and repair of diesel generators
Inspection of reefer power cables prior to use
Photo / Video recording of unit temperatures and cabling
Refueling of intermodal equipment
Topping up fluids on generators and other intermodal equipment.
Communication with customers and coworkers via phone, Internal chat, and two-way radio.
Other tasks as required
Requirements
Must have a safety-oriented work ethic
Must be punctual and reliable
Must pay excellent attention to detail
Must have a valid Class 5 drivers' license
Must be able to pass a criminal record check
Must be 18 or older. (Unable to obtain Erailsafe if under 18)
Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions. This is an outdoor working position (rain, direct sunlight, snow etc.)
Must have basic computer skills

Qualifications and Skills

Mechanical ability and experience
Troubleshooting skills paired with critical thinking and time management
Self-motivated, and ability to work unsupervised
Placed in the on-call or weekend rotation, if JER needs support
