We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will support the management and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security of our systems. You will work closely with senior administrators and engineers to implement solutions that enhance our service-oriented architecture and contribute to the overall efficiency of our operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
(some after-hours and on-call work will be required):
o
Backup Operations
(all on-prem and cloud systems for compliance with corporate policy)
Assist Senior Systems Admin with implementing:
Backup systems (hardware, software, storage)
Reporting dashboards for leadership visibility
Regular monitoring and auditing of performance and consistency of all backup systems.
Periodic testing of quality of critical backups by restoring to DRP facility
o
Network Operations
o Respond to and restore:
Network disruptions (both virtual and physical aspects)
System failures (hardware, virtual machines, operating systems, etc.)
Service failures (MS 365 services such as Teams, Outlook, Sharepoint, Power BI etc.)
Standard on-prem service failures (DHCP, DNS, SMB file shares, Active Directory, etc.)
o Assist Senior Systems Admin with
Designing and implementing network infrastructure
Testing failover scenarios
Maintaining network documentation
o Assist Development team with restoring in-house WMS Application failures
o
Security Operations
(in conjunction with senior staff as needed):
o Respond to, communicate, secure, and quarantine (both virtual and physical IT) compromises:
Networks (wired and wireless)
Systems
Data
Accounts (both on-prem and cloud)
o Regularly audit the NMS logs to identify, inform, and address any threats that need to be mitigated
o Regularly assist Senior Systems Admin to review IT design, vendor selection, and implementation for defects that could be exploited
o
Business Operations
(backup role; IT Technician role is primary for these duties):
Account creation/change/deletion/reset, etc.
Audit accuracy and consistency of employee IT account details
File restore requests (where self-service is not available)
Desktop hardware (including OS) deployment & maintenance
Printer (thermal labels, laser, inkjet) setup & maintenance
Qualifications
o
Diploma(s) and/or certificate(s) from a recognized institute AND 2 years of experience for at least TWO disciplines:
Advanced Powershell Language
Advanced Linux and/or Windows OS theory, installation, and operation covering clusters, HCI, SDN, SDS, Virtualized
Azure cloud deployment and operations
Advanced wireless network installation and operation
Cisco CCNA
Able to travel to USA and not prohibited from working under an L1B visa (
