JOB TITLE: Junior Structural Design Engineer (E.I.T)

LOCATION: Guelph, Ontario

ANNUAL SALARY: TBD upon Experience

CONTRACT TYPE: Full Time Permanent

PAY FREQUENCY: Bi-monthly

START DATE: March 30, 2026

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY



As a Junior Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for taking the lead on projects in the infrastructure, commercial, and residential sectors. The successful candidate will be required to prepare calculations and drawing packages for a wide range of engineering projects with an emphasis on infrastructure projects. You will assist and collaborate with municipalities, designers, contractors, and other business partners; take ownership and manage projects while working under a P.Eng. to ensure that all projects are completed on time and delivered to the highest quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Prepare engineering calculations and drawing packages with an emphasis on infrastructure (bridges and roads) projects.

Review and apply the Canadian Highway Bridge Design code, Ontario Provincial Standards, Structural Steel Handbook, Concrete Design Handbook, and applicable CSA Standards.

Complete drawing packages on AutoCAD

On site inspection of infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects to assess construction operations. Includes site measurements, condition assessments, and client meetings.

Prepare technical letters, documents, and reports for infrastructure, commercial, and residential clients.

Assist and/or plan all project timelines, phases, and milestones.

Review drawings and projects to ensure all required government regulations are met.

Coordinate with clients for design proposals

QUALIFICATIONS



Undergraduate/Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering from a CEAB Accreditation University.

Proficiency with AutoCAD is strongly desired.

Knowledge of Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code is strongly desired

MTO and Municipal project specifications are an asset.

Excellent technical problem-solving abilities and proven data analysis and organizational skills

Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation with flexibility and resilience in dealing with a variety of different personalities.

Self-driven with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as in a team environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in english with the ability to compose documentation that is clear, well-organized and concise.

Ability to develop and learn new skills.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Ability to handle confidential information and demonstrate a high level of discretion.

Must have valid driver's license and own vehicle.
