Build strong relationships with smart, knowledgeable, and diverse people.Junior Property AccountantThe Junior Property Accountant is responsible maintaining accurate financial records for our properties, preparing monthly reports, and assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process. The Junior Property Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.What we look for?

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field.
  • In pursuit of, or having a CPA, CFA, MBA or equivalent qualification is an asset.

What will you do?
Prepare ledgers, reports, data, and analysis.
  • Prepare all aspects of general ledger accounting including posting day-to-day transactions, month-end closing entries, bank reconciliations, etc.
  • Produce accurate and reliable financial reporting packages in strict adherence to the set procedures and deadlines for a portfolio of assigned properties.
  • Ensure timely completion and maintenance of accounting data in order to prepare monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations and journal entries, ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to the operations Business Partner by addressing concerns, financial reporting issues, and variance explanations.
Provide support on monthly and yearly requirements.
  • Review and post monthly rent roll. Assist in rent collection process including working with property management personnel to process pre-authorized debit and credit card charges, and to deposit and manage post-dated cheques. This includes posting move-in and move-out entries, as well, as required.
  • Review monitor and report on accounts receivable. Reconcile AR accounts as required.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of annual budgets for each property.
  • Assist with year-end audits.
  • Correspond with utility providers to ensure proper reporting and remittance.
  • Assist the Business Partners ad-hoc financial accounting matters as needed.
