We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Procurement Specialist to join our growing procurement team in Winnipeg. In this role, you'll play a vital part in supporting the end-to-end procurement and supply chain operations across our organization. Reporting to the
Inventory and Procurement Manager
, this role offers exposure to real-world procurement processes and the opportunity to build foundational experience in the telecommunications industry.
Responsibilities
Support procurement operations by processing purchase requisitions, managing purchase orders in the ERP system, tracking deliveries, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand, resolve invoice or shipment discrepancies, and support logistics coordination.
Maintain data accuracy and compliance with procurement policies and regulations, while assisting in reporting and cost-saving initiatives.
Support vendor relationships and contribute to strategic sourcing, process improvements, and automation projects.
Stay up to date with market trends and participate in ongoing training, certifications, and safety programs to support continuous professional development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine material requirements based on production needs.
Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively.
Conduct market research to identify trends and pricing for materials needed.
Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing solutions.
Qualifications:
Certificate or Diploma from an accredited college or university in a related business field.
Experience in procurement or supply chain operations is an asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications; experience with Ormandy ERP is an advantage.
Strong analytical, communication, organizational and time management skills.
Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification is an asset.
Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills; ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
