JOB DESCRIPTION

Our company provides a combination of engineering consulting and services to the oil and gas industry based out of Calgary, AB.
We are currently seeking a Junior Process Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist senior engineers in the preparation of studies, designs, and detailed engineering for various projects, including the development of process design criteria, troubleshooting, preparation of engineering calculations, analyses and studies, development of process simulations, PFDs and P&IDs, equipment sizing and specifications, and report writing
• Assist senior engineers in process equipment calculations and simulations.
• Assists in detailed development of established design concepts for process systems and equipment
• Communicates and coordinates with other team members, including managers, engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Communicates with vendors and contractors as required.
• Coordinates assigned work with other technical personnel as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A recognized degree in Chemical engineering, from an accredited university, and an Engineer in Training (EIT) designation status with APEGA.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience to the degree necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above.

SKILLS/JOB KNOWLEDGE

• Basic technical knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, PFD, P&ID, plant layout, materials, and computer based process engineering calculations.
• Basic knowledge of industry/ regulatory codes and standards, and design and/ or layout criteria pertinent to the process discipline.
• Excellent skill in oral and written communication and good multitasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of operating standard procedure, best practice; and other internal standards and administrative practices.

The job is performed in an office environment and site travel may be required, depending on project. Job Type: Contract
