Job Description

The Junior Planner's main responsibilities include daily planning, supervising the MRP process, and preparing cost estimates. Through effective collaboration and communication with various stakeholders, the planner ensures raw material availability for production and advises the Operations Coordinator in case of shortages. The role also includes assisting with purchasing when required.

Responsibilities



Planner (80% of the role)




Assist with monthly planning (MPS) and prepare weekly achievements.


Review MRP, inventory levels, and production schedules on a monthly/weekly basis.


Ensure raw materials are available to fulfill production orders using inventory management tools and coordinating with supervisors.


Enter sample requests into the schedule and coordinate required documentation for production.


Prepare displays before validation by the Operations Coordinator.


Communicate effectively with departments, especially Purchasing, to obtain accurate costs promptly.

Buyer (20% of the role)




Prepare and send purchase orders (PO) based on information provided by the planner.


Follow up on orders with suppliers.


Perform data entry and filing of documents related to production and purchasing.

Qualifications




Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience in operations.


Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel skills.


Bilingual: French and English (Intermediate English required, as 80% of our clients are in the U.S., with meetings involving our 8 U.S. facilities).


Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost reduction techniques.


Understanding of strategic planning principles and resource allocation.


Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.


Ability to work as part of a team and comply with safety procedures.
