Job Description

Atlantic Towing is seeking Junior Officers in St. John's, NL.



Maintain a safe and efficient navigational watch in accordance with international regulations, Master's Standing Orders and company procedures and policies and maintain the Deck and Radio Logbooks. Care, inspection and maintenance of all lifesaving and firefighting appliances (i.e. Lifejackets, Survival Suits, GMDSS Radios, EPIRBs, SARTS, Life Rafts, Rescue Boats, Fast Rescue Crafts, Line-throwing appliances, Rocket/Parachute Flares, Smoke Floats, Fireman's Outfits, EEBDs, Fire Extinguishers, Fixed Firefighting Systems, etc.). Verify that the vessel's firefighting and Lifesaving Appliances Plans are posted in proper areas and maintained current. Maintain the SOLAS Training and Firefighting Manuals up-to-date. Record safety meeting minutes and submit meeting reports to the Master for review. Prepare Emergency Drill Reports. Contribute to ATL's Safety culture by: Understand and comply with various safety processes within the Safety Management System Possess the skills to perform job related tasks and apply safe practices while performing physical tasks. Have a thorough understanding of precautions and procedures related to the Safety Management System Have thorough understanding of pollution regulations and the company's objectives regarding environmental protection.
