We are expanding our engineering team and seeking a

Junior Mechatronics Engineer

with strong hands-on technical capabilities to support the assembly, integration, testing, and maintenance of our growing fleet of cutting-edge UAV platforms.

Key Responsibilities



Assemble, integrate, and test custom drone systems, payloads, gimbals, and supporting ground equipment. Diagnose and resolve hardware, wiring, communication, and propulsion-related issues. Support electrical system integration (CANbus, power distribution, GPS/RTK modules, sensors). Assist in the design improvement of mechanical and electronic subsystems through prototyping and iterative testing. Work closely with engineering teams to ensure aircraft are airworthy and meet performance requirements. Execute test procedures, including lab bench tests and field flights, while capturing technical results and analysis. Perform regular maintenance, repair, and upgrades on existing systems to ensure reliability and mission readiness. Support documentation efforts including build guides, maintenance logs, and configuration tracking. Research component requirements and collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality parts when needed. Contribute ideas to improve manufacturability, durability, and performance of drone platforms.

Qualifications



Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field. Hands-on experience in UAV assembly, RC systems, or electronics integration (professional, project-based, or hobbyist). Strong understanding of propulsion systems, flight controllers, and wiring harness best practices. Familiarity with CAD tools (Fusion 360 or SolidWorks) for reviewing designs. Proficient in troubleshooting electronics, circuitry, and mechanical assemblies. Experience with Arducopter and Px4 is considered an asset. FEA and/or CFD analysis is an asset. Experience with flight testing procedures and radio communication systems is considered an asset. Knowledge of programming and scripting languages (Python or C/C++) is a plus. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment with a strong willingness to learn. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
