Some of our projects relate to:

Wildlife, plants, and species: projects in support of research and conservation efforts relating to species, migratory birds and wildlife conservation;

Climate Change: support scientists with their work on climate change science, and support the Pan-Canadian framework on Climate Change in its implementation of a modern climate change plan for Canadians;

\xef\xb8\x8fWeather observation and reporting: support IT projects, where Canada\xe2\x80\x99s meteorologists conduct critical work relating to the collection of weather-related data that ultimately feeds into the weather report;

Wildlife and environmental enforcement: support Canada\xe2\x80\x99s enforcement officers whose work is to protect wildlife from illegal human interventions, such as hunting or trade that could adversely affect long-term wildlife conservation, as well as ensure that companies and individuals comply with environmental acts and regulations.

Intent of the process

A pool of partially assessed candidates will be established and will be used to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements such as English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB) and (CBC/CBC), Bilingual non-imperative (BBB/BBB) and (CBC/CBC) and various security requirements within the Department of Environment and Climate Change Canada in various locations such as Edmonton (Alberta), Esquimalt (British Columbia), Kelowna (British Columbia), Vancouver (British Columbia), Winnipeg (Manitoba), Gagetown (New Brunswick), Moncton (New Brunswick), Oromocto (New Brunswick), Sackville (New Brunswick), St. John\'s (Newfoundland and Labrador), Stephenville (Newfoundland and Labrador), Dartmouth (Nova Scotia), Halifax (Nova Scotia), Burlington (Ontario), Ottawa (Ontario), Toronto (Ontario), Trenton (Ontario), Dorval (Qu\xc3\xa9bec), Gatineau (Qu\xc3\xa9bec), Montr\xc3\xa9al Island (Qu\xc3\xa9bec), Qu\xc3\xa9bec (Qu\xc3\xa9bec), Saskatoon (Saskatchewan).

EDUCATION

ED1: Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager\xe2\x80\x99s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager. EX1: Experience working with clients to review and analyze their business problems or needs and provide input to solution recommendations.
EX2: Experience providing assistance and guidance to clients with varying degrees of IM/IT knowledge.
EX3: Experience contributing to technical or project related documentation, such as meeting notes, presentations, status reports, etc.
EX4: Experience in working as a member of a team to deliver on a project.

AOC2: Professional in Business Analysis Certification (PBA) from the Project Management Institute (PMI)

AOC4: Agile Certification from a recognized certifying institute or organization (one or more of the following certifications)
  • IIBA Agile Analysis Certification (AAC)
  • Certified Scrum Professional
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMIACP)
  • Professional Scrum Master (PSM 1)
  • Agile PM
  • Scrum Certified Product Owner (CSPO)
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification
  • Certified Agile Leadership for Organizations (CAL-O) from Scrum Alliance

AOC5: ITIL Foundation Certification from a recognized certifying institute or organization
AOC6: Certification in Change management from a recognized certifying institute or organization ASSET EXPERIENCE

AEX1: Experience with the M365 platform to develop business solutions leveraging Power App, Power BI, and/or Power Automate.
AEX2: Experience with the use of Microsoft\xe2\x80\x99s Azure DevOps platform.
AEX3: Experience writing User Stories, Requirement statements or documenting any other type of business needs.
