We're hiring for a full-time Junior or Intermediate Engineer in our Halifax, NS office. The Engineer will be supporting the operations of Nova Aerospace Structures, working within a team of engineers. As a small company with the goal of market share expansion, our employees are expected to support a variety of tasks, including: technical report writing; quality management; sales proposal support; and other ad-hoc tasks.

In our eighth year of operations in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Nova Aerospace Structures is looking for driven team members to help us continue building on a solid foundation. In our day-to-day, we use classical analysis, finite element analysis, and 3D modeling capabilities to design and analyze aircraft interior products for clients across North America. Our core engineering team has decades of combined technical experience in the aerospace industry and has worked all over the world.

About You
You have an engineering degree and are looking to join a small company to grow with professionally. You have strong communication skills and are willing to perform a variety of tasks to accomplish project and company goals. You have a willingness to take on new challenges and learn.

Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering, aerospace or mechanical preferred
Entrepreneurial experience or knowledge is an asset
Experience
Experience in a small company or start-up
Experience working within an engineering team
Experience writing and checking technical reports
Experience with structural analysis considered an asset
Experience with engineering design considered an asset
Experience with engineering software (i.e. CAD, FEA programs) considered an asset
Experience with certification regulations (TCCA, FAA) considered an asset
Experience with AS9100 and the Controlled Good Program considered an asset
Other Requirements
Willingness to learn and develop
Must speak, read and write fluently in English
French as a second language is an asset
A valid driver's license and evidence of insurability is an asset
Must be able to meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Must be able to work on-site in Halifax, Nova Scotia
What You Will Do
Prepare and check engineering reports, including: test plans; analysis reports; repair instructions; quality manuals; technical process instructions; internal work instructions; and other reports as required
Support Nova Aerospace Structures' quality management system
Support new processes, report templates or other tools as required
Support the substantiation of aircraft interior products
Other ad-hoc duties as required
