We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable Junior Financial Reporting Analyst to join our Finance team. This role provides hands-on support across multiple areas of financial reporting and analysis, with a particular focus on cost reporting, variance analysis, and operational reporting.
Working closely with the Cost Accountant and Financial Planning Analyst, this new role is critical in ensuring accurate, timely, and actionable reporting to drive business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Costing & Variance Reporting
Support the Cost Accountant with the review of part costing, including analysis of purchase price variances (PPV) and other cost variances.
Provide backup for the costing of new and existing parts, including updates to standard costs within the ERP system.
Prepare and analyze scrap reporting, inventory adjustments, and PPV reporting by part number and reason code.
Support VRMA (Vendor Returned Material Authorization) reporting and tracking.
Operational & Financial Reporting
Generate reporting for freight-in analysis and support freight cost reporting.
Assist with pulling and preparing data to support variance analysis of costs versus budget and forecast.
Work closely with Engineering and Finance teams to support SR&ED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development) reporting requirements.
Sales, Margin & Commission Reporting
Run reports to assist with sales and cost of sales reconciliations.
Prepare and upload agent commission files, ensuring accuracy and timely.
Journal Entry & Month-End Support
Assist in preparing and entering journal entries related to costing, inventory, and other financial transactions.
Support the month-end close process through data extraction, report generation, and reconciliation activities.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in accounting, cost analysis, or financial reporting (manufacturing environment preferred).
Strong Excel skills required (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas); exposure to ERP systems (SAP, JD Edwards, Sage, etc.) is an asset.
Familiarity with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) is considered an asset.
