Do you have a passion for the construction industry? Prestige Recruiting Solutions has partnered with our client to recruit for a Junior Estimator based in Mississauga, ON. Our client is a specialized industry leader in the construction industry.Reporting directly to the Executive Assistant you will direct, oversee, and be responsible for tying in all elements and functions that relate directly and indirectly to the design, estimating, delivery, and execution of new and upcoming projects. Working as part of an established organization structure and within standard protocols and procedures by which all work undertaken is conducted,You Will Be Amazing At:

• Supporting and assisting new projects by coordinating with Executive Assistant,
• Downloading Tender Package files from builder and storing in OneDrive Estimating Folder,
• Maintaining OneDrive and organizing files as per file structure,
• Calculating and preparing take-off of confidential projects as assigned,
• Reviewing tender package scopes of work and takeoff documents with Executive Assistant and preparing quotations for review,
• Reviewing scope of work document in Tender Package and verifying what is included and excluded for the take-off,
• Identifying material within the specs of the tender package,
• Communicating with clients if Tender Package has missing and or unclear information after initial review,
• Preparing take-off of small projects, reviewing if within our line of work and discussing with Executive Assistant,
• Helping prepare any typical drawings that pertain to caulking, EJs, ULCs and or estimating using appropriate software (CAD, Revit, etc.),
• Assisting Executive Assistant on creating schedule of values for Crews (SOVs),
• Providing general office support as required (answer phones, open and distribute mails, establish and maintain filing systems,
• Providing weekly status updates to Executive Assistant and Vice President on all assigned projects along with project timelines and lookaheads,
• Uploading necessary estimating documents through Procore and Sharepoint,
• Joining Scope Review meetings with clients and team, when asked,
• Assisting Executive Assistant with any day-to-day duties as assigned,
• Helping maintain the Quote schedule.

Do You Have These Qualifications, Experiences, and Skills?

• Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology Construction Management or Civil Engineering,
• Estimation course, preferred,
• Previous experience in construction estimating,
• Ability to read architectural drawings and develop cost estimates,
• Knowledge working with Microsoft Office, Sharepoint and Procore,
• Proficiency with estimating programs such as Bluebeam or On-Screen, as well as CAD.
• Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
• Familiar with Ontario building code.
• High-rise building envelope knowledge and understanding.

Education:

• AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)

Experience:

• construction estimating: 1 year (preferred)
