This is a paid summer internship with the Colliers Canada REMS Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) team, and reporting into the Senior Sustainability Analyst.
In this role, you will support Colliers\xe2\x80\x99 growing-portfolio of managed assets across Canada, with a focus on the ESG advisory support and services we deliver nationally. Key areas of support that the role will be involved with include; building certifications, building awards, required federal and/or provincial reporting compliance, and project coordination.
Ultimately, this position is encouraged to make a positive impact to ESG management at Colliers, in support of Colliers clients, as well as help to further build their experience in building ESG and sustainability management in commercial real estate.
Who you are
You are an aspiring ESG and sustainability professional with ambitions to assist commercial real estate teams and asset owners at a national scale, helping them to better understand their sustainability improvement opportunities and reach their targets. This internship is for an individual who would enjoy leveraging their ability to creatively translate ESG and sustainability goals into actions for our various properties. Exposing you to Real Estate Management Services at a large, globally recognized organization, the position is well suited to someone who is detail oriented, self-motivated, with proven interpersonal skills.
What you bring
Passionate about creating impactful change in our environments and communities,
Recent graduate in a STEM related field such as engineering, architecture or environmental science or a Social Sciences/Business related field such as geography, sustainability, or political sciences,
Enjoy collaborating in a team environment, and are also efficient working alone on specific tasks,
Proficient in all MS Office software platforms
Experience and solid understanding of PowerBI and/or other data visualization tools.
Ability to adapt and prioritize, demonstrating resolutions process in an ever-changing environment,
Ability to contribute optimally to sophisticated, multi-disciplinary projects \xe2\x80\x93 often supporting several projects at a time,
Ability to lead meetings with various internal and external stakeholders,
Highly detail orientated with excellent analytical skills; an ability to communicate ESG and sustainability related ideas effectively to a broad audience,
Kind and open-minded.
Bonus skills and experience
Pursuing or holds professional accreditation or working experience with various ESG and sustainability related certifications including LEED, BOMA BEST, Fitwel, Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility CertificationTM (RHFAC)
Proven understanding of various federal and provincial regulations regarding the environment and building specific standards such as ASHRAE for energy, water, and air.
Experience in the Commercial Real Estate sector
What success will look like
At Colliers, you will able to understand the challenges and opportunities of ESG and sustainability management in the commercial real estate sector and be able to explain it confidently to various stakeholders. Successfully lead multiple projects with varying targets in support of meeting corporate and client goals, as well as broader national and international goals and requirements.
