Sunwise Engineering Ltd. is a locally owned and operated engineering consulting firm. We have provided Mechanical and Electrical Engineering building systems services to our clients since 1981. Our offices consist of collaborative teams located in Medicine Hat and Lethbridge, Alberta. Sunwise Engineering is currently seeking permanent employment for a Junior Electrical Engineer, Electrical Technologist or Master Electrician to join our Lethbridge team. Responsibilities and Duties The responsibility of this position includes but is not limited to the following: \xc2\xb7 Attend construction sites to conduct project quality assurance reviews of in-progress or completed electrical work. \xc2\xb7 Perform fire alarm verifications in accordance with Federal, Provincial, and local codes. \xc2\xb7 Assist with the design of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, nurse call, communications, public address, and door access control systems for a variety of buildings under the supervision of a senior electrical engineer. \xc2\xb7 Conduct field reviews to gather accurate existing site conditions for design assistance. \xc2\xb7 Prepare drawings in Bluebeam Revu and coordinate with drafting team. \xc2\xb7 Prepare project documentation in Microsoft word and excel. \xc2\xb7 Follow standards, quality assurance and quality control procedures. \xc2\xb7 Proactively identify and address potential electrical issues on site. \xc2\xb7 Support and engage in a collaborative work environment to achieve clear and comprehensive design solutions. \xc2\xb7 Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical and civil consultants. \xc2\xb7 Communicate with contractors to clarify specifications and design. \xc2\xb7 Review contractor shop drawing submittals to validate adherence to specifications and design. Qualifications and Skills \xc2\xb7 Electrical Engineer with a B.Sc. in electrical engineering, Electrical Technologist or Master Electrician. \xc2\xb7 Preference will be given to those with previous electrical experience in the construction industry. \xc2\xb7 Ability to manage your workload and deadlines on multiple projects at same time. \xc2\xb7 Excellent verbal and written communication skills. \xc2\xb7 Ability to think and act independently. \xc2\xb7 Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment with constant changing deadlines. \xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of electrical construction drawings and understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code are considered an asset. \xc2\xb7 Valid Alberta driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with clean driving record.
