TWD is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer/Technologist with field management project experience, to be seconded to the owners team for one of our Calgary clients. This position is based in Calgary, AB.

Client team Responsibilities would include (but not limited to):

• This person would work directly with, and be part of, our clients Corporate Electrical Engineering Team to lead, monitor field contractors and help design projects.
• Ensure that the vendors and contractors adhere to client standards and specification.
• This position requires knowledge of design and engineering, electrical procurement and construction activities.
• Manage projects of varying sizes within budget and schedule constraints.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Professional Engineering Designation (P. Eng.) is and asset, though not a requirement.
• Knowledge of electrical and automation design
• Able to manage swing over from old to new technology. An example of a particular project is provided below:

• The client has a Granule unloading system in Calgary using PLC5s and RS485 communication to remote racks that need to be updated to control logic. This project also involves keeping the old running while doing the new.
• New Electrical Room. new MCCs, Control Panel, drawings, programming, etc. Installation to be taken as far as possible to minimize the changeover to the new system. Tasks will have to be coordinated.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands on engineering/technical experience required in petrochemical, power generation or other heavy industries.
• On-site project management experience would be an asset.
• Excellent verbal, written communication skills required
