Labrador Rewinding Inc. (LRI) is a Newfoundland and Labrador based company situated in the Wabush Industrial Park in Labrador. LRI is in the heart of the iron ore mining industries and is first and foremost dedicated to the rebuilding of electro-motive systems. Throughout its 30-year history, this company has grown and developed its operations by upgrading and investing in their facility and employees with a continued focus on quality and customer service.

On their behalf, we seek an Electrical Mechanic to join their team in Labrador West. This is a permanent position with a fly-in, fly-out rotational schedule option. As an Electrical Mechanic, you will ensure the proper functioning of the equipment to help optimize operations and drive a high standard of quality and safety. A team-oriented and solutions driven approach is key to success in this role.

Responsibilities Include:

• Test and observe electrical, electronic and mechanical components and systems using testing and measuring instruments
• Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro- mechanical equipment
• Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components
• Wind, assemble and install various types of coils for electric motors or transformer electrical connections and by aligning and adjusting parts
• Test and repair of replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
• Test repaired motors, transformers, switch gear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance
• Perform some machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators or other parts
• Perform on-site servicing and repair

Desired Qualifications:

• Training/Certification as an Electrician/Millwright/Mechanic or relevant field is preferred
• Experience as an electrical mechanic an asset
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
• Ability to work in a fast paced, energetic atmosphere
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Good organizational and planning skills
• Safety-oriented
• Drive to achieve professional and organizational goals
