We are seeking
a Junior Electrical Designer
whowill support projects in the commercial, healthcare and education industries. This is a practical, hands-on position well-suited for recent graduates or early-career engineers looking to apply their technical knowledge, develop industry experience, and contribute to delivering excellence, innovation and ingenuity to our clients. This is one-year contract position.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering precise and detailed engineering designs and calculations for building electrical systems. Your key responsibilities will include:
Producing accurate electrical system designs and calculations.
Preparing comprehensive drawings, including layouts, design notes, and technical specifications.
Collaborating effectively with team members, clients, contractors, and other design disciplines, including participating in coordination meetings.
Communicating confidently in face-to-face interactions with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
Presenting technical data to internal and external stakeholders using AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD, and Raster Design software.
Applying your knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
Performing fault current analysis, voltage drop calculations and understanding the distinctions between SCCR and KAIC ratings.
Utilizing REVIT MEP and AutoCAD for design and documentation.
What You Bring:
A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
A proactive mindset suited to fast-paced environments, with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
A collaborative spirit and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, coordinating meetings, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality results within budget.
Strong organizational and time management skills, including familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Gantt charts.
Confidence in representing the company professionally in various settings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to travel within Manitoba, with occasional national travel.
