Junior Dispatcher

to join our team at our Mississauga terminal. This role is ideal for someone with some dispatch or trucking experience who is eager to learn, grow, and advance within our operations team.

This is a fast-paced work environment, and attention to detail is a must.

Responsibilities

Monitor and respond to driver inquiries; update our TMS including tracking and tracing for assigned customers. Update routes and send dispatches "on the fly," ensuring customers are kept informed of shipment status and any delays. Plan and prepare the next day's dispatch schedule, assigning loads to drivers to maximize efficiency. Communicate with fellow dispatchers and internal departments to ensure smooth operations and that all linehaul shipments depart before cut-off times. File and sort paperwork; upload BOLs, PODs, and other documentation in a timely manner. Optimize route planning by sorting and categorizing shipments based on delivery/pickup locations, schedules, weights, and pallet counts. Monitor equipment repairs and maintenance schedules; guide drivers through breakdown procedures when needed. Support other operational areas during absences, vacations, or staffing shortages, including but not limited to: Data entry Manifest creation Invoicing Logging traffic violations Incident reporting Document management Equipment tracking Load planning and equipment management

Qualifications

Experience working in a trucking or transportation environment:

1 year preferred

Strong communication and multitasking skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
