Position Overview
In support of the Communications, Marketing and Engagement department, the Junior Coordinator, Marketing, Creative and Production Services (Website, Photography and Videography) is responsible for providing multimedia support for the City's website, and corporate photography, videography for events and ceremonies. This includes assisting with the creation and editing of content across various platforms using video/photography and social media understanding and software/platforms. Demonstrated ability to brainstorm creative ideas in addition to providing on-site event support, as necessary.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination

  • Assist with website content, recording, editing, production and publication of multimedia as directed using relevant
platforms or modern video editing software.
  • Supports other videography/photography requests, as required.
  • Assists with development of scripts, storyboards and content plans to help capture or edit each corporate event/ceremony.
Interactions with Others
  • Attends meetings with CME staff to learn about priorities and provide project and material updates.
  • Communicates with department staff in Communications, Marketing and Engagement, and across the Corporation on relevant photography and videography projects
  • Helps coordinate activities with photography/videography vendors and service providers, as required.
Other Duties
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, in accordance with job responsibilities or necessary departmental or corporate objectives.
  • Follows Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and the corporate Occupational Health and Safety Policy and related procedures.
  • Supports a respectful and inclusive environment by following Accessibility for Ontarians Disability Act (AODA) and related policy and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Successful completion of a two-year College Diploma in Web, Photography, Video Production, Film, Journalism, Design or suitable equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months' related experience.
  • Familiarity with professional cameras, prosumer camcorders (Canon DSLR or similar), various HD and SD formats, pre-production/planning, studio and field production, lighting/grip, script writing, storyboarding and photography.
  • Familiarity with website content management, graphic design photography and videography skills and knowledgeable with Adobe CS, Canva, Lightroom, etc. Motion graphics and animation skills are an asset.
  • Familiarity with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of various social media platforms, algorithms and trends.
  • Knowledge of visual storytelling and a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage photography and videography projects successfully, from start to finish.
  • Demonstrated sound judgement and the ability to communicate and build strong relationships with colleagues and external vendors.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and guidelines pertaining to written and electronic materials, confidentiality, and news media, including copyright, privacy and accessibility (AODA) laws.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the City's core competencies.
  • A valid Ontario 'G' driver's license, in good standing, with access to a reliable vehicle for corporate use.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours, as required.
