Position Summary



The Junior Chemical Blender is responsible for assisting in the preparation, blending, and packaging of chemical products according to standard operating procedures and customer specifications. This position is ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in chemical manufacturing with opportunities for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities



Accurately weigh, measure, and blend chemical raw materials as per batch sheets and blending instructions. Operate mixing, blending, and transfer equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure all products are manufactured in compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Maintain detailed and accurate production records, including batch logs, raw material usage, and equipment cleaning logs. Assist with receiving, labeling, and organizing raw materials and packaging supplies. Prepare containers, drums, and totes for filling, ensuring accurate labelling and secure closure. Load/unload drums, pails, and raw materials with proper lifting techniques and tools. Conduct basic in-process quality checks (e.g., pH, viscosity, appearance) and report abnormalities. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and internal SOPs to prevent cross-contamination. Participate in production meetings and safety talks to align on goals and hazards.

Qualifications and Skills



High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in chemistry or manufacturing is an asset. 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, blending, or chemical handling role (training will be provided). Proficient math, measurement, and documentation skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions. Physically able to lift up to 25 kg, stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor. WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain within the first 30 days. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a time-sensitive environment. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Comfortable working with or around forklifts, drum pumps, and blending machinery. Must be punctual, dependable, and have a strong work ethic.

Work Conditions



Work is performed in a manufacturing facility where exposure to chemical products, odors, and temperature fluctuations is routine. Standard schedule: [insert hours, e.g., Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM], with occasional overtime as required. Compliance with all Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA) regulations including break entitlements, overtime pay, vacation pay, and public holiday rules. Mandatory participation in health & safety training and emergency response drills. Use of PPE including gloves, goggles, coveralls, and respiratory protection (as required). Participation in Tetra-Chem's Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) is encouraged. Facility operates under strict environmental and waste management protocols. May require occasional assistance with spill containment or environmental compliance tasks. Exposure to noise and moving machinery requires adherence to safety signage and protocols. Climate-controlled and ventilated blending areas support comfort and air quality.

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
