Your Role




The Junior Camp Leader will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of camp programs offered by the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. They will be respectful of program participants and will be responsible for making sure that the activities and areas remain clean, safe, and well maintained. This position will require an individual to exemplify exceptional customer service and will be an important role amongst the Sports and Recreation Department.

Your Responsibilities



Guide participants in day-to-day age-appropriate activities that promote fun, learning and development. Provide a safe and secure environment with respect to the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo's policies and procedures. Assist with set up, take down and cleaning of camp equipment or supplies. Coach, lead and guide camp programs and enforce rules for all campers. Ensure the provision of nutritious snacks and lunches when applicable. Provide parents and other participants with information regarding staff, scheduling, expectations, services, and planned activities. Provide insight into camp programming and emergency procedures. Provide exceptional customer service to all guests. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education & Experience



Minimum 15 years of age or older. Minimum completion of Grade 10. Current Intermediate First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (including CPR C). Experience babysitting or coaching. Experience with working with children of different ages and abilities is an asset. Experience in customer service would be an asset.

Working Conditions



This position requires a flexible schedule including early morning, late night, and weekend work. Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in camp activities which include, but are not limited to, swimming, team building initiatives, rock climbing, physical games, and activities. This position may include heavy lifting of supplies and equipment and may be exposed to loud noises and will require an individual to be able to concentrate in a busy environment.
