Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Bookkeeping Assistant to support our day-to-day accounting functions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support our accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience with various accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles. This position is essential for ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, supporting account reconciliations, and assisting with budgeting activities.
The ideal candidate is a recent high school graduate who is eager to learn, highly organized, and has a keen eye for detail. No prior professional experience is necessary as we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.
Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Accurately enter daily expenses, vendor invoices, and other financial transactions into our system.
Process invoices, payments, and expense reports using our company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure consistency between bank statements and company records
Support account reconciliation efforts and account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors
Maintain and organize digital and physical financial records.
Maintain organized financial files and documentation for audit purposes
Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed.
Receive training and become proficient in using our company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Assist with other basic bookkeeping tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
& Skills
Proven experience with bookkeeping, accounting, or similar roles preferred
Good understanding of accounting principles including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Knowledge of payroll processing and related software is a plus
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to analyze financial data and perform account analysis effectively
Strong numerical proficiency and a high level of attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in accounting or finance would be an advantage.
A positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn new software and processes.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Reliable and punctual.
