Junior Analyst, Mining Systems (contract)

Closing Date: July 31st, 2024Job Summary:Reporting to the Supervisor, Mining Systems, the Junior Systems Analyst is a key part of a team that is responsible for a portfolio of business-critical systems that are used to optimize the safety, productivity, and environmental sustainability of our mining operations. They will interact with innovative software, hardware, and service suppliers across all our operations to develop, deliver, and maintain these systems. The position falls under our flexible work policy which allows for work from home 1 to 2 days per week and the position will require up to 10% travel to the Elk Valley mines near Sparwood, BC.This is a 12 month contract to start.Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Support and sustain technology across Teck sites by ensuring the business objectives of the Mine Operations, Engineering and Maintenance departments are met.
  • Platforms include Fleet Management, Geotechnical, Collision Avoidance and System Monitoring for multiple sites through remote and onsite troubleshooting.
  • Manage Remote Access solutions that allow our Vendors to provide Tier3 support.
  • Develop and maintain KPI metrics updated monthly.
  • Develop and leverage relationships across Teck operations and corporate offices to facilitate alignment of objectives and encourage communication and collaboration between operations in all geographic regions.
  • Adhere to the Teck Digital Systems change control and other policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain standards and documentation.
  • Facilitate and support cyber-security improvements, incident response, and forensics.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One or more years of experience delivering and supporting information technology services preferably in a mining or industrial setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong cross-functional team participant and collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a highly distributed team environment.
  • Valid class five driver\'s license with a clean driving record.
